CranioSacral Therapy
What will I experience or feel during a CranioSacral session?
While each session is unique and individual, there are similarities that are common with CST. Since the CranioSacral system is a fluid system, most people experience feelings of peaceful fluidity, almost as if you are floating on water.
CST is a gentle and safe technique that provides the opportunity for trauma and injury stored in the cells to release and unwind. You may feel this as muscles twitching and relaxing, or even spontaneous jerks as the energy block leaves the body.
Since emotion can be stored in the body, you may have what is called a Somatic Emotional Release or SER. This is when you remember the original event or parts of it and the unprocessed feelings associated and finally let them resolve and sequence through your body in a new and healthy way. This is done very carefully with respect for your energy system so that the blocked emotions are released in a way that you can manage, process and tolerate, restoring healthy function and flow to your body.
The American Cancer Society understands that Craniosacral Therapy can be beneficial for cancer patients, including those with mesothelioma, a form of cancer, when used in harmony with mainstream cancer treatment methods like chemotherapy. Craniosacral Therapy is said to relieve pain and headaches, restore a sense of balance and calm, and may even promote immune system function.
